POLICIES
as of 01/01/2025
1. Membership Subscription & Cancellation Policy
Tuition at Music and Company is a month-to-month subscription. The fee is charged on the first day of each month and includes all of the weekly lessons and rehearsals within the month. Your subscription holds your time slot in the schedule with your teacher throughout the year.
Music and Company is a year-round music school, meaning that your subscription continues unless withdrawal is requested. We accept enrollment at all times of the year.
Cancellations must be made at least two days before the first day of the month, which is the billing date.
Music and Company is closed on most national holidays and school breaks. The cost of these breaks is already factored into the flat subscription rate.
Upon enrollment, the subscription for the first month will be prorated for new students based on the number of lessons remaining in that month.
All students will be on AutoPay and must keep a payment method on file.
A one-time sign-up fee is required upon enrollment. For current fee amount, please visit: https://www.mandc.school/tuition
Educational materials, music books, instrument rental, and other accessories are additional costs that must be covered by the client.
A late fee will be applied to any outstanding invoices that are 10 days overdue. Lessons will be automatically denied until payment is resolved. For current late fee amount, please visit: https://www.mandc.school/tuition
If your regular teacher becomes permanently unavailable, Music and Company will provide a new teacher at the same time slot or work with you to find a suitable alternative.
2. Trial Lesson Policy
All new students begin with a paid trial lesson to ensure a good fit before committing to regular lessons.
**What's included in your trial lesson:**
- 30-minute lesson with a qualified teacher
- Meet the teacher and explore our beautiful facility
- Try the instrument hands-on
- Ask questions about lessons, schedules, and our program
**Important details:**
- Credit card is required at the time of booking
- Trial lesson payment is non-refundable and separate from our 30-day satisfaction guarantee

3. 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
We stand behind the quality of our instruction. If you're not satisfied after your first month of regular lessons, we'll refund 100% of that month—no questions asked.
**How it works:**
- The guarantee period begins with your first regularly scheduled lesson (after the trial)
- The guarantee covers 30 days from that first regular lesson
- To qualify for a refund, you must:
- Attend ALL scheduled lessons **in person** (not virtual)
- Be **on time** for all lessons
- Attend lessons at their **originally scheduled time** (no rescheduled lessons)
**What's refunded:**
- ✅ First month tuition (full amount)
- ✅ Sign-up fee
- ❌ Trial lesson fee (non-refundable)
This guarantee ensures you can try our program risk-free while experiencing the full value of consistent, in-person instruction.
4. Refund Policy
Refunds are not provided under any circumstances, except:
1. **30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee** (see Section 3 above)
2. **Billing errors** made by Music and Company
Missed lessons, absences, and cancellations do not qualify for refunds.
For questions about billing, please contact the administrative team via the Opus1.IO platform or by phone.
5. Lesson Length
We offer 30-minute, 45-minute, and hour-long individual lessons.
Lessons with two students are 45 minutes long.
Lessons with three or four students are one hour long.
For current lesson pricing, please visit: https://www.mandc.school/tuition
6. Band Program
Students must be enrolled in individual or small group lessons to participate in our band program.
The band class tuition is a separate subscription from individual or small group classes. The subscription will be billed at the beginning of the month along with the student's other subscriptions.
Students are expected to attend all rehearsals. Since each student in the band is playing a different instrument, it is challenging when members are missing and delays the progress of the group.
Student absences must be reported to the instructor and administrative team as early as possible so instructors can prepare for the rehearsal accordingly. Make-up rehearsals and custom catch-up videos are not offered if students are absent from band rehearsals.

7. Missed Lessons - Student Caused
Attending lessons regularly is crucial for musical growth. Consistency builds muscle memory, reinforces skills, and ensures steady progress. Missing lessons frequently can slow development and create gaps in learning.
Lessons cannot be rescheduled by students for any reason, regardless of advance notice. This policy respects teachers' time and promotes discipline and accountability.
**Options when you cannot attend your in-person lesson:**
**Option 1: Live Virtual Lesson**
- Real-time video call with your teacher
- Must be requested **at least one day in advance** to guarantee availability
**Option 2: Custom Catch-Up Video**
- If you cannot attend an in-person or live virtual lesson, a custom catch-up video will be provided by the teacher through LessonMate, an online platform students receive access to upon enrollment
- If requested day-of, we cannot guarantee timing, but the teacher will still prepare the video
- A link to sign in to LessonMate will be provided here: https://app.lessonmate.org/
**Late Arrival Policy:**
- If a student is more than 10 minutes late for their scheduled lesson, it will automatically be converted to a video catch-up lesson so the teacher can begin preparing it immediately
Consistent practice outside of lessons is essential to progress. Teachers provide structured practice plans, and students are encouraged to follow them diligently.
8. Missed Lessons - Teacher Caused & Substitutes
If a teacher is unavailable due to illness or planned or unforeseen circumstances, Music and Company reserves the right to assign a substitute teacher.
Substitute teachers will be briefed on students' progress to ensure lesson continuity.
If a substitute cannot be found, the school reserves the right to reschedule the lesson.
If you would prefer to reschedule with your main teacher rather than taking the lesson with a substitute, you may call the studio to request this. We do not guarantee that it will be possible, but we will give it our best efforts.
9. Scheduling & Billing
All scheduling and billing matters should be handled through the administrative team or via the Opus1.IO platform.
10. Tracking Progress
After every lesson, the teacher will send notes accessible to students and their families through the LessonMate platform.
Sign-in information will be sent once the first lesson notes or catch-up lesson is available.
If sign-in information is lost, a link will be provided to regain access.
A guide on how to use LessonMate will also be available through a provided link.
11. Indemnification
Clients assume all risk of injury or harm to the child(ren) or adult(s) associated with participation in musical activities at Music and Company.
Clients agree to release, indemnify, defend, and forever discharge Music and Company and its owners from all liability, claims, demands, damages, costs, and expenses in the unlikely event of injury sustained by a child(ren) or adult student during the course or as a result of their participation in Music and Company's musical activities, recitals, or lessons.
Music and Company is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students.
12. Photo/Video Release
Unless requested in writing, Music and Company is granted permission to take photographs and videos of students to use in brochures, websites, posters, advertisements, newsletters, social media, and other promotional materials.
Permission is also hereby granted for Music and Company to copyright such photographs in its name.
**By enrolling in Music and Company, students and parents agree to abide by the policies outlined above to ensure a structured and effective learning environment.**
